CEA (Certified Entrepreneurial Advisor) is the recognized business designation for professionals who advise small and entrepreneurial businesses.
Why it's Important:
Small businesses need advisors with multi- disciplinary approaches. CEAs provide outside-the-box approaches and innovative solutions.
The Process to CEA
Certification involves a web-based learning curriculum, including videos, downloadable tools and certification metrics. You'll also receive CPE credit for the work you do.
Built for Professionals
CEA is designed by professionals to help augment and complete the skill sets of a wide range of professional advisors.
Rise to a Higher Level
Immediately become validated and increase your value as a business advisor to your clients. Use what you learn immediately.
At Your Own Pace
Our training is presented as a series of small, comprehensible video segments that allow you to learn at your own pace, interact with other members and be on the cutting edge of today's business topics.
Learn. Advise. Prosper.
All of our videos are taught by experts in accounting, law and business. Watch what you want, when you want. Plus, you'll use what you learn with clients and reinforce your knowledge base with our quizzes, downloadable kits and ebooks.
After completing each of our courses in the CEA curriculum, you'll receive recognition through achievement badges that will serve as "micro-accreditation." At the same time, you'll also receive continuing education credits (CPE) for the courses you take.
Our extensive video subject library is for you to choose from. Whether you're a seasoned professional or only somewhat acquanted with a particular subject, we're confident that you will find our material to be fresh and insightful. We are constantly updating and growing our library each week with courses organized into the following twelve subject areas.

CEA & Continuing Education (CPE)
Continuing Education Credits (CPE) are based upon the requirements established by various governing bodies, including each State Board of Accountancy.
These organizations have the final authority in crediting continuing education. Those seeking continuing education credit should download our Continuing Education Tracking form, complete and retain it as support for their claim of CPE hours. We strive to adhere to the QAS standards of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), the CFP Board for financial planners, and the requirements for Continuing Education for the Bar programs in the United States. The CEA program is accredited by the National Accreditation Standards Foundation (NASF).
Thanks to Mozilla's Open Badges initiative, Backpack is working to make it easy for anyone to display their credentials across the web through a shared infrastructure that's free and open. You'll be able to easily display your credentials everywhere. Including the ones you receive from us.
